Spaghetti Bolognese

So for many many years I have been trying to find a great meat sauce recipe, but everyone that I have tried just didn't seem to have that authentic Italian taste....until yesterday. I found this recipe online, but altered it a little, and the outcome was fantastic!!

SPAGHETTI BOLOGNESE

2 tbsp olive oil
1 large onion diced
1/2 cup diced carrots
5 cloves of garlic minced
1 can of mushroom (if u have fresh even better!)
1 lb of ground beef
1/4 cup of apple juice
1 can of crushed tomatoes
3 tbsp tomato paste
1 cup of chicken stock
salt, pepper, chili powder and thyme to taste

  • Heat oil, and brown onions, garlic, carrots, ground beef, mushrooms.
  • Season with salt, pepper, and chili powder
  • De glaze pot with apple juice
  • Add crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, chicken stock
  • Add more salt, pepper, chili powder, and thyme to your liking
  • Simmer for 2-3 hours
  • Serve over Spaghetti Noodles
